Six year old Dundalk resident Marcel Traore went missing twice during the morning of June 21, 2024. He was found walking the streets of his West Inverness neighborhood first around 3 a.m. and was returned to his family by police. Marcel was reportedly a non-verbal, autistic child who had also gone missing a few days prior.

He went missing again hours later, but was not reported missing until around 9 a.m. A massive search and rescue operation, over 75 emergency service workers and volunteers in total, occurred until around 11:30 a.m. when Marcel was found in Lynch Cove, a waterway on the west side of the neighborhood.

Emergency medical services personnel performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation on scene and while he was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He was pronounced deceased later in the afternoon. More details can be found in the video above.
