From February 17, 2003 to July 5, 2013, comedian Mickey Cucchiella co-hosted shows with Amelia Ryerse on Baltimore radio station 98Rock. He recently launched a new show called Mickey Talks alongside another 98Rock alumnus, Matt Davis, who will serve primarily as the show’s news guy.

Mickey Talks is still getting its feet wet, so there will be technical issues, but that’s part of the fun with internet shows. No apologies are being made while they figure everything out. Mickey is a veteran behind the microphone, so it’s possible he becomes the Joe Rogan of Baltimore County. After all, he is no longer beholden to 98 Rock’s sponsors nor the Federal Communication Commission’s rules about what words he can or cannot say.

The other day, Mickey spoke about the fun times that were had at the original Hammerjacks, a rock music venue whose primary heyday was in the 1980s and was prominently featured in John Waters’ Serial Mom movie. Apparently, a free drinks promotion was a huge hit and Mickey quickly won over the crowd when given the opportunity to be the master of ceremonies.
