While perusing through old stories on The Baltimore Post, I came across a few opinion pieces written by Charles “Buzz” Beeler about a man named Stephen Quisenberry. Apparently, he is a former FBI agent and now apart of the Baltimore County Inspector General’s Office.
As a fellow independent journalist, I completely empathize with Mr. Beeler’s frustrations regarding government contact. Government sponsored mainstream media outlets get preferential treatment, because government officials know that the “journalists” employed by those large multi-million dollar companies will tow the line. Real journalists aren’t afraid to ask elected officials and government workers the tough questions, and that’s what politicians fear most: being exposed.
All that talk about transparency during the 2022 election season was just that–talk. The reality is, for the most part, writing emails and making phone calls to government workers is like trying to contact a hermit. It isn’t until you go to where they work in-person where they may finally give you some answers. Unfortunately, travel isn’t free and more people use ad-blockers and are unwilling to pay for good journalism. So, We the People of Baltimore County, Maryland remain in the dark.
Going back to the original topic and title of this article, who exactly is Stephen Quisenberry? He’s an employee for the Baltimore County Government. He used to be an employee for the federal government. But unfortunately, Buzz never did get an answer, according to his final story regarding the inquisition. Google results don’t show much…FBI agents intelligently tend keep themselves off of social media.
There also was never a follow up about the April 2024 Indian home raid that the Baltimore County Police Department took part in. Buzz may have forgotten, so I’ll try to get some more information about what went down that day.
Earlier this week, I left a voicemail with a State Board of Elections employee and as far as I know no one has returned the call yet. Although admittedly, I’m bad at clearing my voicemails of all the automated telemarketers asking if I’d like to extend my car warranty or “problems with your business’ Google listing”. As of today, the mailbox is cleared for any and all government employee replies that may come my way in the coming days and weeks.
