5 More Ways the Government Manipulates The Public
The establishment in Towson and Annapolis want you compliant and quiet. Here’s are five more ways they use your own human nature against you to keep the machine running. This is part two of a four part series.
6. Creating Dependency Through Welfare
The Baltimore County Department of Social Services hooks residents on programs that start as help but end as a cage. These vouchers and credits are structured to trap people in cycles of reliance so they keep voting for the same faces. The bureaucracy grows every year because it transfers your wealth upward to the political class while the poor stay stuck. Ignorance of basic incentives keeps this parasitic system growing. Most people never see how these programs destroy the drive to earn money and build real wealth.
7. Divide-and-Conquer Social Engineering
The County Council loves to amplify culture wars to keep you from looking at the $4.9 billion budget. They pit neighborhood against neighborhood over identity groups or class resentment to prevent any unified pushback against their spending. You spend your time fighting with your neighbors on Facebook over wedge issues while the elite politicians at the top grab more power. It’s a classic trick to keep the public focused on each other instead of scrutinizing the corruption in Towson.
8. Mass Surveillance Sold as Safety
The Baltimore County Police Department justifies expanded spying with the lie that you have nothing to hide if you’ve done nothing wrong. They blanket the county in speed cameras and digital tracking tech that harvests your data 24/7. Most residents lack the tech literacy to understand how this data is used for social control and tracking. This “safety” narrative is just a cover for building a digital fence around the entire county.
9. Election Theater and Low-Information Voting
Complex ballots and gerrymandered districts in places like District 6 are designed to exploit voters. Sound-bite campaigns focus on emotion or party loyalty rather than the gritty details of a candidate’s voting record. Most voters can’t name a single bill their representative sponsored but they re-elect the same failures because of name recognition. This theater ensures the “anointed” candidates win while the real issues get ignored.
10. Regulatory Capture and Crony Capitalism
The Department of Permits, Approvals and Inspections (PAI) writes rules that favor big-name developers like Blue Ocean or Caves Valley. These regulations appear to protect the public but they actually just raise barriers for small competitors. The average person doesn’t track the lobbying or the revolving door between county agencies and the industries they’re supposed to watch. This crony capitalism ensures that only the connected elite get to build and profit in Baltimore County.
The government counts on you being too busy to connect these dots. They want you fighting your neighbor while they build a system of dependency and surveillance. Stay tuned for Part Three where I expose how they use health and “science” to control your life.
